Volcanic granules are nicely light and manageable due to the small cavities in the rock and they absorb a lot of water because there are many small openings and pores in the material. Volcanic granules are formed during a volcanic eruption when the liquid lava, which contains a large amount of gases, cools so quickly that the gas bubbles do not have time to escape and become trapped in the rock.

Unlike potting soil, which is extracted from peat, the use of volcanic granules is completely energy-neutral and can be used for many years.

Useful steps for repotting your plant in volcanic granules.
This is quite simple. All you need is the special Beautanic Lifestyle pot with a water meter and Beautanic Lifestyle volcanic granules.

For plants in volcanic granules (hydroculture):

  1. Click the water meter into the grid and place it in the Beautanic Lifestyle pot.
  2. Remove the plant from its nursery pot and make a slit/incision in the root ball from top to bottom for the water meter.
  3. Check that the slit is wide enough for the water meter and place the plant in the pot with the water meter.
  4. If the top of the root ball reaches the widening, it's good. If not, first fill the pot with a layer of granules.
  5. Fill the space around the water meter with volcanic granules. If desired, you can also cover the top of the pot with granules.
  6. Then water the plant until the indicator is at the top mark. Pay attention! Do this slowly. It takes a while for the water to soak through the substrate and for the water meter to register.
  7. You are ready to enjoy your healthy, green hydroculture plant.

For plants in potting soil:

  1. Click the water meter into the grid and place it in the supplied pot.
  2. Fill the pot approximately halfway with volcanic granules.
  3. Remove the plant from the potting soil and rinse most of the potting soil from the plant's roots.
  4. Place the plant in the new pot with the water meter, ensuring it stands nicely upright.
  5. Fill the pot with volcanic granules.
  6. Water the plant until the indicator is at the top mark. Pay attention! Pay attention! Do this slowly. It takes a while for the water to soak through the substrate and for the water meter to register.
  7. You are ready to enjoy your healthy, green hydroculture plant.
